1. DO NOT Uninstall Plexis POS from your old computer.
2. Archive your Plexis POS invoices. If you keep a maximum of 13 months of detailed
data or even better 3 months or less the upgrade will process quickly. If you
do not archive the upgrade to take many hours to complete depending on how many
invoices are active.
3. Exit Plexis POS completely out to Windows.
4. If you are running a Multi-Station Version of Plexis POS shut down ALL Terminals using Plexis POS.
5. If running the Plexis POS Caller ID Server, Price Checker or any other application
accessing the Plexis POS databases shut all of those down completely.
6. Browse to your existing Plexis POS ROOT folder on the OLD computer
(example: "C:\Program Files\POS 30") and COPY (do not not cut!) the entire contents
of that folder and ALL sub-folders on to backup media device of your choice.
7. Start PDQuick Retail and select Utilities, System Maintenance, Technician Tools.
8. Select Database Tools, Import from Plexis POS
9. From your BACKUP MEDIA Choose the source data and system folders.
10. Choose the Destination folder where PDQuick is installed.
(tip: You may create a new folder here if needed).
11. Click IMPORT DATA - F2.
12. After Importing the PDQuick will exit out to Windows.
13. Start PDQuick Retail a file rebuild will occur and then the program will exit. The data transfer is
now complete.
14. Restart PDQuick and if the import was successful you will now be accessing the company data from
your prior Plexis POS software.
Notice: Not all data from Plexis POS is compatible with PDQuick as the formats are different. Touch Screen and
menu buttons will need to be reassigned using the Inventory Items that were imported. You may notice other data
is missing or formatted differently. This is normal and to be expected under these circumstances.
